The Juniper School is an independent, non-profit, private school in Columbus, OH, serving children ages 0-3 in our Caregiver/Child classes, ages 3-6 in our Early Childhood and Kindergarten programs, and grades 1-5 in our Elementary program. Bookkeeper

Start Date: Fall 2025

Position Overview: We are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join our Administrative Team. This role will report into our Lead Administrator and will be responsible for tracking, maintaining, & reporting financial data. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in accounting, experience managing non-profit finances, and an interest in Waldorf Education.

Responsibilities:

  • 15 hours/week of hybrid work (minimum of one day onsite each week)

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulation

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and GL

  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Assist with financial planning and decision-making

  • Assist with tax filing and audits

  • Manage payroll

  • Track teacher and program spending

  • Maintain bookkeeping (including autopayments and account reconciliation)

Required Qualifications:

  • BA in Accounting or equivalent experience

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data

  • Proficient with QuickBooks and Google Workspace

  • Willingness to learn education- specific software

  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting

  • Interest in Waldorf Education

AfterCare Assistant

Start Date: Fall 2026

Position Overview: We are looking for a part-time aftercare assistant/custodian to support our aftercare team. Hours for this position are 3:00-6:00 pm Monday through Friday. With a pay rate of $18 an hour.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Be available to the Aftercare Teacher when needed

    • Supporting as the second adult on site

  • Kitchen clean-up and preparation for the following day

    • Take out trash and recycling as needed

    • Put away dry dishes, wash remaining dishes, and put items away

    • Put compost in the outside bin

  •  Assist with the preparation and serving of snack to Aftercare students

  • Wipe down surfaces, pick up trash on floors, and complete general tidying/cleaning of restrooms (2 upstairs and 2 downstairs) M, W, and F

    • Cleaners come Tuesday and Thursday, so those days are not as necessary

    • Check paper towels, soap, and sanitizer levels

  • Take outside trash to the dumpster as necessary-gather from hallways

  • Help make sure lights and AC units, etc., are turned off prior to closing

  • Make sure all school windows are closed

  • Maintain organization and stocking of supplies

    • Unpack boxes

    • Let admin (Jen or Meghan) know when running low on supplies

Substitute Teachers (pre-K, Kindergarten & Grades)

The ideal candidate has experience in childcare or working with children ages 3 - 6 years is preferred for Pre-K and Kindergarten, but not required to apply.

Position Overview:

In EC/K, assist the lead teacher if an assistant is out, or assist the assistant if the lead is out, helping with classroom activities, play and storytime, clean-up, dishes, transitions indoors and outdoors, outside supervision and rest time. Lots of hands on help needed.

In grades 1-5, lead the class using the class or subject teachers' substitution plans, transitions between classes, supervision for recesses, and lunch.
