Waldorf Method Education Scholarship Association

The Juniper School is excited to announce a new program from the state of Ohio. This program allows you to give dollars that you would otherwise be paying to the state of Ohio and redirect them to support families in need.

The income-tax-credit program for scholarships:

The State of Ohio has recently passed legislation allowing a state income tax credit for monetary donations to an eligible scholarship granting organization (SGO).

This credit reduces your Ohio tax liability by the total amount donated to the SGO in any given tax year, up to a maximum of $750 per taxpayer, and a maximum of $1500 for taxpayer and spouse filing jointly.

*  To find your Ohio tax liability, check line 10 of your Ohio IT 1040. For more detailed
information regarding how to find line 10 and how to note your donation on the form, please see the YouTube video listed in resources below.

Note that the donation reduces your Ohio tax bill dollar for dollar by the total amount donated up to the stated maximums. It is a credit, not a deduction.

We invite you and your family members and friends to make a donation to The Juniper School SGO: the Waldorf Method Education Scholarship Association.

To make a donation for tax year 2023, you may either:

Donate to Scholarship Fund Here - VENMO

~OR send or drop off a check made out to the Waldorf Method Education Scholarship Association to C/O Juniper School office at 76 Charleston Ave, Columbus, OH 43214

As confirmation, you will receive an email from the fund stating that your donation was made to an approved SGO. If you prefer a hard copy, please include your mailing address at the time of donation. You will then be able to claim the SGO credit on your 2023 Ohio tax return (up to the maximums as stated). Keep this email or letter in the event that the Ohio tax commissioner would request substantiation for the claimed tax credit.

The Waldorf Method Education Scholarship Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with an independent volunteer administrative board. The entire amount of your donation will go directly to families in need of financial support for increased tuition costs, i.e., no administrative costs will be deducted from the donation. The scholarship funds will be distributed based on stated financial need. The Waldorf Method Education Scholarship Association fund is fully certified and approved by the Ohio Attorney General and appears on the last page of the list of SGOs certified in 2023~
